UbiNetics Technology Included in New PDA Phone

UbiNetics, a developer of third-generation (3G) wireless technology, says it will supply wireless components to a Hong Kong firm that is developing a PDA phone.

Emerging Technologies Limited, a subsidiary of Wong’s International Holding, has embedded designs from UbiNetics in the Mobillon PDA phone, and the device was demonstrated at a trade show this week, UbiNetics said.

UbiNetics said its technology has transmitted Internet Protocol-based data at rates up to 85.6 kbps.

The company has more than 400 employees in the UK, North Carolina, Japan, India, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
