The Georgia Public Service Commission has ordered BellSouth to reduce the fees it charges competitors for access to its network.

The PSC said rates will drop 20 percent from a charge of approximately $22 per line.

AT&T said the decision means it and other competitors can offer more services at competitive prices.

In a bitterly contested decision, the Federal Communications Commission recently ruled that states should have more control over access fees.
