Velant, Inc, a transportation planning software and solutions planner, has added Ron Gable as president of the company.
Dr. Don Ratliff, the company founder, remains as chief executive officer.
Gable previously worked Scient, Inc., a consulting firm. He also served as vice president of global supply chain for Campbell Soup Company and was managing partner for the manufacturing and supply chain consulting practice at Coopers & Lybrand LLP.
Velant closed a $10 million second round of venture capital funding last fall. The round was co-led by 3i, a leading international venture capital company, and returning investor Matrix Partners. Velant has raised $17 million in all.
