The North Carolina Electronics and Information Technology Association endorsed Gov. Mike Easley’s continued support of the North Carolina research and development tax credit, which he included in his state-of-the-state address on Monday.
“We must creat an environment that rewards discovery and innovation, and knowledge and technology,” Easley said. “We can do this by reforming our R&D tax credit to attract growth industries.”
Said NCEITA President Joan Myers: “An improved R&D tax credit is a key issue to NCEITA and its member companies. NCEITA has pledged to work with both the governor’s office and the General Assembly to make this proposal a reality.
“An improved R&D tax credit is crucial to growing our knowledge-based economy and, more importantly, jobs.”
