Duke University has redesigned its web site in an attempt to improve and speed up navigation of university related information.

“We started from scratch, trying to bring order to the mass of information that’s now on sites throughout the university,” said David Jamul, associate vice president for Duke’s office of news and communication. “It’s been like taking many decks of cards, throwing them on the table and then reorganizing them again and again until things make sense.”

Jamul added that the site is “the closest thing Duke has to a commons. People are forming opinions about Duke based on what they see there.”
