SAN JOSE,Cisco Systems and AT&T are expanding their strategic relationship.
The two firms agreeing to work together on product and technology planning and also positioning their sales and marketing teams to promote delivery of AT&T services incorporating Cisco products.
“The combination of network reach, number of managed services, size of combined sales forces and strong market positions of AT&T and Cisco make this agreement potentially one of the broadest in the industry,” said Michael Haines, an analyst at Gartner Inc. in a statement issued by the two companies.
Cisco and AT&T plan to promote 17 AT&T end-to-end managed services. Such as Internet Protocol virtual private networks, IP network security, metro optical and Ethernet services, integrated voice and data services, and managed services.
Also expected to participate in the expanded agreement are 1,200 AT&T alliance channel partners and 3,000 certified Cisco channel partners, the companies said.
