EMS Technologies has deployed a wireless network connecting mobile workstations at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare in suburban Chicago in what the companies says is the largest effort to date for a healthcare facility.

EMS (Nasdaq: ELMG) says the 802.11b standard network, which was installed by EMS and another firm, covers three hospitals plus medical and research groups. The network links more than 500 mobile clinical workstations.

EMS says it has been involved in more than 400 wireless projects for medical facilities.
