Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina has implemented a high-speed enterprise network linking three different centers under a contract with Progress Telecom, the companies announced Thursday.
Progress Telecom, which is owned by Progress Energy, provides broadband telecommunications services across its 8,200 mile fiber-backbone network.
BCBS contracted with Progress for a Gigabit Ethernet and fiber channel services to link its data center, customer service center and corporate headquarters.
The Progress network coverage stretches from Miami to New York and has more than 165 points of presence.
