Internet Security Systems has formed an alliance with PowerTech Group in a bid to improve security for firms using IBM iSeries hardware, the companies announced Wednesday.

PowerTech, which provides centralized administration for IBM iSeries network security, said it would work with ISS to help companies implement enterprise-wide security measures. The scalable solution is designed for NT servers and Unix servers as well.

Bruce Leader, president and chief executive officer of PowerTech, said the PowerTech-ISS solution would help clients improve security on networks that provide access to suppliers, agents, customers and remote workforces. While greater access to data has “enhanced the value” of firm’s information, that same access has increased network vulnerability, he said.
