IBM and Cisco are expected to announce a deal today that calls for Big Blue to sell Cisco’s new storage networking equipment, according to CNET.

The news web site reported late Monday night that IBM plans to offer Cisco MDS 9000 switches that are designed to handle the high speed required to link storage area networks, or SANs.

Cisco is offering the new product after acquiring a company called Andiamo. Cisco’s venture group helped establish Andiamo in 2000 and then acquired last year, according to CNET.
