IBM has struck a global deal with Cisco Systems to sell storage network solutions, the company announced today.
IBM and IBM Business Partners will sell MDS 9000 switches and related equipment. The products should be available by the end of the first quarter.
“The combination of IBM’s storage systems and Cisco’s storage networking products provides customers with high-performance, scalable and manageable SAN (storage area network) solutions,” said Luca Cafiero, senior vice president and general manager of the Switching Voice and Storage Technology Group at Cisco.
The companies pointed out that IBM is the first vendor to sign a reseller agreement with Cisco for the SAN switches.
