WINSTON-A Russian biotechnology firm has leased 500 feet of space to open its first office in the US.
Asinex, which develops and synthesizes drug compounds, will locate the office in Piedmont Triad Research Park, according to the Winston-Salem Journal. Bakhit Kourmanov, a consultant for the company and a physicist at Wake Forest University, helped steer the company to North Carolina, the newspaper says.
Asinex maintains its headquarters in Moscow and has some 175 employees.
