Alston & Bird is ranked No. 3 on FORTUNE magazine’s “100 Best Companies To Work For” list.
The law firm, which employs 23 lawyers in Raleigh and 72 in Charlotte among its total of 675, ranked No. 9 last year. Alston & Bird was the first law firm to make the list.
The list is prepared by Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz of the “Great Place To Work Institute” in San Francisco. The ranking is based on surveys of nearly 40,000 employees at more than 1,000 firms, and employee responses count for two thirds of each company’s score.
Speaking of Alston & Bird, FORTUNE said: “The company thrives on daily, weekend, monthly and quarterly communication, and unlike many law firms, had no layoffs this year.”
Many of Alston & Bird’s North Carolina-based lawyers focus on intellectual property and high-tech issues. The firm has its headquarters in Atlanta.
