SAS has been chose by the editors of CMP Media’s Intelligent Enterprise magazine as one of the 12 most influential IT solutions providers in the development of emerging “intelligent” enterprises.
Intelligent Enterprise ranked SAS second on the list, behind Teradata, a division of NCR. Others on the list, in order, included IBM, OutlookSoft, Business Objects, Microsoft, Manhattan Associates, Peoplesoft, Oracle, ILOG, Inxight and Open Source/Linux.
Commonly referred to as “The Dozen,” this annual listing recognizes companies that excel at delivering solutions that bring higher value to customer relationships, enable greater visibility into enterprise business performance and set the stage for affordable intelligent computing.
“Through product development and acquisition, SAS has the breadth and depth to lead in delivering relevant solutions in key strategic IT areas, such as analytics, business intelligence and business performance management,” David Stodder, editorial director of Intelligent Enterprise, said in a statement.
Jim Davis, SAS’ senior vice president and chief marketing officer, said transforming raw data into valuable intelligence is the foundation of the Cary-based company’s business.
“By doing so,” Davis said, “we help our customers achieve competitive advantages with accurate, high-quality information that can enhance their business decisions and, ultimately, their bottom line.”
