Capital Investment Companies, one of the largest independent financial services and brokerage organizations in the Southeast, has formed a strategic relationship with Gulfstream Capital.

Under the deal, Gulfstream will provide institutional and retail investment advisory services through the Capital Investment Wealth Management Platform.

Jim Crumpton, president of Gulfstream, will serve as a liaison between the two financial service companies. Based in Raleigh, Gulfstream provides investment management and financial planning services.

Prior to forming Gulfstream, Crumpton served as the president and chief executive officer of BB&T-Asura Capital Ltd. Before that, he was chief financial officer and treasurer of Asura Corporation.

“Jim adds tremendous depth to our growing network of experienced investment advisors,” Ben Brooks, director of wealth management for Capital Investment Group, said in a statement. “Jim and I have been lifelong friends and have always looked for the right opportunity to work together,” Brooks said.
