Internap Network Services Corporation (Nasdaq: INAP), a provider of routing services over the Internet, is expanding its management team by hiring two executives from BellSouth and Sprint in the last two weeks.

David Abrahamson, a former senior marketing executive with BellSouth, has joined Internap as vice president and chief marketing officer. Abrahamson’s primary focus will be on driving growth through new products and services, developing strategic partnerships and increasing public and business awareness.

Prior to joining Internap, Abrahamson led BellSouth’s e-business applications and services organization where he was responsible for developing and managing BellSouth’s Internet data center products and services.

Also, Allen Tothill, a former vice president for Sprint’s e-Solutions government division, has joined Internap as VP of government systems. In his new role, Tothill will lead Internap’s sales efforts in the federal, state and local government sectors.

Prior to joining Internap, Tothill led Sprint’s e-Solutions Group, a division of Sprint’s Global Markets Division, where he managed sales, solution architecture and service delivery for the Eastern U.S. He held other key leadership positions throughout his 17-year career at Sprint, including VP of emerging markets and VP of national accounts.

Internap offers business customers a portfolio of Internet-based services, including its patented Assimilator route optimization products, which utilize up to nine domestic IP backbones, VPN, video, network monitoring and management, data storage and retrieval, collocation and content distribution services.
