Networking software company LVL7 Systems has hired Daniel McGillivray to serve as the company’s vice president of sales.

McGillivray will be responsible for building LVL7’s global sales organization, establishing relationships with networking system vendors and creating additional sales channels for FASTPATH software.

“Dan brings a tremendous amount of experience in the embedded software marketplace and truly understands the development challenges facing our networking OEM customers,” LVL7 President Ernie Baker said in a statement. “As we ramp up our sales efforts, Dan’s experience and insight will enable LVL7 to continue expanding the reach of FASTPATH software.”

Most recently, McGillivray served as director of sales for a $60 million division of Wind River, a provider of embedded software and services. Prior to Wind River, he served as vice president of sales for Embedded Support Tools Corp. until its acquisition by Wind River in 2000.

McGillivray will be based in LVL7’s sales office in San Jose. The company opened its West Coast office earlier this year and plans to increase its sales activity in the Asia Pacific market in 2003.
