RALEIGH … Venture deals across the Southeast continue to come in fits and starts. After seeing just seven financings in October, North Carolina and Georgia had four between them last week.

The week was led by Dynogen Pharmaceuticals’ $13.25 million first round and also included first rounds by GuardedNet at $9 million and IQStat at $2 million. YellowBrick Solutions also snagged $3.9 million in its third round.

Although sources indicate more deals are in the works, they also admit that it’s strictly a matter of timing as to whether any of those deals will happen this year as the approaching holidays will soon close the window on realistically finishing the paperwork before January.

In the region, 107 tech firms have raised $870 million in venture funding so far this year, for an average deal size of about $8.1 million. Here’s a look at LocalTechWire’s exclusive list of deals in the region, ranked according to the size of the investment:
