eWorker Technologies, a software application service provider, has been sold to management consulting firm in Boston.
Public Consulting Group says it has acquired eWorker and will retain its present location in Biltmore Park, NC, near Asheville, as well as all of the company’s eight employees.
Rick Purcell started eWorker in the basement of his Brevard, NC, home in 1998. The company, which is one of few successful high-tech companies in Western N.C., moved to downtown Brevard for a while and then relocated last year to Biltmore.
Last month, Public Consulting proposed purchasing eWorker in an unsolicited offer. The details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Public Consulting Group is a management consulting firm serving government and private health and human service providers across the country.
eWorker Technologies’ flagship product, eWorker, provides the software agent-infrastructure to streamline the movement of data and content flow and helps clients’ programs run more efficiently.
