The Indus Entrepreneurs chapter of the Carolinas is about to get a new president.

Swadesh Chatterjee will take over for Vivek Wadhwa in the next few weeks. Wadhwa, who has helped mold TiE into one of the region’s most aggressive and best-known entrepreneurial organizations, is stepping down after a two-year term.

Chatterjee is president of Brandt Instruments in Fuquay. He also is national president of the Indian American Forum for Political Education and formerly served as president of that group’s North Carolina chapter for two terms.

Chatterjee earned his MBA at North Carolina State and earned undergraduate degrees in physics as well as instrumentation and electronic engineering. He currently coordinates programs for TiE’s regular meetings.

Wadhwa is founder and chief executive officer of Relativity Technologies.
