BellSouth (NYSE: BLS) says it has received the highest ranking for business broadband data service providers in J.D. Power and Associates’ Major Provider Business Telecommunications Services Study.

The study finds that for companies using broadband data services such as BellSouth FastAccess DSL or T-1 lines, the performance and reliability of the provider’s network is the most dominant driver of customer satisfaction.

According to the study results, BellSouth ranked highest in overall customer satisfaction among broadband data business customers. BellSouth received the highest scores in all seven factors driving satisfaction with business data service providers. These factors include performance and reliability, sales representatives/account executives, company image, cost of service, billing, offerings and promotions and customer service.

The 2002 Major Provider Business Telecommunications Services Study is based on responses from more than 3,000 U.S. businesses, and evaluates their data and voice services providers. The major providers covered in the J.D. Power and Associates Business Broadband Data Survey serve nearly 40 percent of the business broadband market.
