CHAPEL HILL, N.C. … Isoph and SmarterOrg, which both provide learning and collaboration technologies for the nonprofit community, have signed a definitive agreement to merge.
Operating under the name Isoph, the combined company says it will offer nonprofits increased resources, deeper expertise and a wider variety of cost-effective technology options. Isoph is headquartered in Chapel Hill, with offices in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., where SmarterOrg is based.
Jeff Cobb, Isoph chief executive officer, will continue to lead the combined company, and Celisa Steele will continue as its chief creative officer. Bill Tucker, former SmarterOrg CEO, will join the leadership of Isoph as chief knowledge officer. No jobs will be cut as a result of the merger, the company says.
“I’m very excited about the potential that this merger represents,” Cobb said in a statement. “By combining resources and knowledge, we will be able to offer the most advanced thinking and technology for developing nonprofit-focused online learning and collaboration initiatives.”
Isoph and SmarterOrg both focus on providing learning and collaboration technologies for the nonprofit community, and the merged company will continue to focus on the social sector market, serving nonprofits, associations and foundations. The companies have worked with numerous leading nonprofit and philanthropic organizations to develop learning strategies, online courses and seminars, collaboration tools and training initiatives.
Some of those organizations include Forum EMPRESA, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, CompassPoint Nonprofit Services and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
Isoph’s technology platform, Isoph Blue, provides an integrated, web-based environment for creating and managing web content, online learning and collaboration. It also offers clients a range of professional services including strategy development and implementation support, custom content development, technology and platform customization and database application development.
