RALEIGH … With October almost half over, the number of venture deals announced across the Southeast during the month stands at exactly one … and even that wasn’t a blockbuster.

An Atlanta-area software company, Applied Systems Intelligence, landed $500,000 from angel investors last week in what has become a dismal period for the regional venture scene. Just nine deals were announced in September, and not many more appear imminent.

Ninety-seven tech firms in the Southeast have raised about $790 million in venture funding so far this year. Here’s a look at LocalTechWire’s exclusive list of deals in the region, ranked according to the size of the investment:
