SAS is now shipping Enterprise Guide Version 2.0, a Windows client application with an interface that the company says allows companies to better use business intelligence resources.

SAS says Enterprise Guide delivers a greater depth of intelligence across businesses, adding it omits the need for programming for business analysts.

“Customers use Enterprise Guide to create and exploit business intelligence quickly,” Jim Goodnight, president and chief executive officer of SAS, said in a statement. “Using Enterprise Guide, organizations leverage the next generation of business intelligence – rapidly pushing the power of SAS analytics across the enterprise using existing platforms and data sources. Customers tell us that Enterprise Guide is worth its weight in gold because it delivers intelligence to the right people at the right time so that they can make better, faster business decisions.”

Enterprise Guide 2.0 provides features include additional guided tasks for analyses and reporting, role-based task display, integrated scheduling that allows end users to refresh and disseminate reports automatically at regular intervals, support for development of custom tasks using familiar development environments like Microsoft Visual Basic or .NET.

SAS says Enterprise Guide is an important business intelligence component of its Intelligence Architecture. SAS is based in Cary.
