RALEIGH … September continued to blow a chill wind through the region’s venture capital community. Only seven deals have been completed through the first three weeks of the month, although sources indicate that at least two more should be announced in the coming week.

Last week saw two Triangle firms, biotech concern Encelle and semiconductor packaging maker Ziptronix, close funding rounds. Also, Atlanta network monitoring and management company Seventh Wave Technology landed venture cash as well.
