SmartPath Inc., a software company that creates products for marketing programs, says it is expanding internationally with the opening of an office in London.
SmartPath also tabbed Bryan Ferren, former chief executive officer of MicroMass Communications, to serve as vice president of European operations. This growth comes as a result of an increasingly global base of clientele using SmartPath marketing resource management (MRM) software, the company says.
“MRM software is, by nature, an enterprise initiative, and we encourage the increasing requirement to do business where our customers are doing business,” SmartPath President Mike Doernberg said in a statement. “–Bryan Ferren is a seasoned executive with astute knowledge of our specific industry segment, which marries marketing communications with supply chain management. His appointment allows us to confidently expand our presence to service international customers.”
Prior to joining SmartPath, Ferren spent seven years in executive leadership roles with MicroMass. During his tenure at MicroMass, he oversaw 600 percent growth at the company. Ferren’s previous experience also includes serving as chief financial officer and vice president of administration for CompuChem Environmental Corporation. He also was a manager in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneurial Services Group, specializing in high-tech, high-growth companies.
Founded in 1998 and located in Research Triangle Park, SmartPath offers three browser-based products: SmartPath MMS for marketing organizations; SmartPath AMS for agencies; and SmartPath RAP, which allows companies to digitally review, comment on, change and approve documents. SmartPath MMS and AMS are enterprise scalable applications that provide a framework for project and document management, the automation and distribution of tasks and assets among workgroups, as well as collaboration that allows documents and data to be shared, commented on and reviewed.
