Novient, now a Solution 6 company, says that it is being awarded a patent for its secure collaboration technology.

The patent, entitled, “Method for mapping applications and/or attributes in a distributed network environment,” reinforces Novient’s position among Professional Services Automation (PSA) solution providers, the company says.

“Novient is recognized as the technology leader in the PSA industry,” R. Halsey Wise, president and chief executive officer of Solution 6 North America, said in a statement. “We are consistently first to market with the innovative offerings that reshape and redefine our industry. This newest patent, which follows our recent introduction of the industry’s first optimization technology and in advance of our release of Novient eServices 8, is the most recent affirmation that this market turns to Novient to provide the vision and leadership that drives the evolution of PSA.”

Novient has sold the patented technology to large, global service
organizations that use it to collaborate and share resource data securely via the Internet. Novient’s secure collaboration technology is available as part of its core eServices offering. Secure collaboration technology allows access to data according to security privileges set within the Novient PSA application. Data is only shared in a secured environment, and only the data
queried is transferred over the Internet.

Additional patents on Novient’s technology are pending, the
company says.

Atlanta-based Novient merged with Solution 6 Holdings in an agreement
