North Carolina’s Department of Justice has updated its concealed handgun permit program, implementing a Java-based system through the assistance of Relativity Technologies.

Using RescueWare from Relativity, the Justice department is upgrading its mainframe legacy system, according to Vivek Wadhwa, chief executive officer of Relativity.

Relativity says the new system will enable law enforcement personnel to perform background checks “more efficiently and track those who have already secured permits.”
