Equant (NYSE: ENT), a global data and IP services company with US headquarters in Atlanta, is now offering IP telephony services in 60 countries.
A statement released by the company says Equant IP is the first desktop-to-desktop IP telephony service for multinational companies. The new service allows corporations to use their Internet networks to deliver data and voice services to any location.
For fiscal year 2001 Equant revenues increased 62 percent to $2.39 billion while net losses increased from $47.6 million to $387.2 million.
During the last 52 weeks shares of ENT ranged in price from $4 to $7.23. Its stock closed at $5.55 on Friday. The company’s market capitalization is $2.01 billion.
