SAS has named Mike Tindal, formerly SAS Canada marketing director, who joined the company in 1997, as senior director of corporate communications.

In his new role, Tindal will lead the continued development and overall execution of the company’s strategic corporate communications functions. His responsibilities will include oversight of Creative Services, Corporate Public Affairs, Marketing Creative and Publications, Marketing Public Relations, and Video Communications & New Media.

At SAS Canada, Tindal was responsible for all marketing functions in the Canadian organization and helped develop and implement overall strategy for the Canadian market. Tindal’s 18 years of experience in the high-technology sector include roles in sales and marketing with Digital Equipment, Sun Microsystems and SHL Systemhouse. Prior to joining SAS, Tindal was vice president of one of Canada’s largest public relations agencies, where he managed the technology practice and provided counsel to many of the country’s top IT organizations.
