The biggest venture headline last week was Charlotte-based Sense Technologies losing out on $4 million in financing when its appeal to fight delisting by Nasdaq was rejected. The investment was based in part of Sense winning its appeal.

Local Tech Wire is told, however, that some deals may be announced this week. Stay tuned.

So far this year, 73 technology companies in the Carolinas and Georgia have obtained $566 million in venture capital financing through the first seven months of 2002, for an average investment of almost $7.8 million.

In one other bit of funding news last week, Roanoke Technologies did close on $200,000 from private investors.
