BioShield Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: BSTI), announced Tuesday that it has hired Deirdre Baker as its new general manager.
A statement released by the company says Baker has more than 14 years experience in various management and leadership positions at GE.
In that statement spokesman Tim Moses says: “Deirdre offers a fresh perspective to BioShield and is very goal oriented, focused on leading our Company’s completion of its turn-around, the launching of our new robust product pipeline, and assisting BioShield in creating a strong reseller sales channel to provide increased sales and profit opportunities.”
BioShield calls itself an “emerging growth company focused on biotechnology and antimicrobial products.” Shares of BSTI recently traded near 9 cents. Through March 31 net sales totaled $2 million, up from $966,000 during the same period in 2001, while losses from continuing operations decreased 41 percent to $3.6 million. The company’s market capitalization totals $5.79 million.
