Misys Healthcare Systems, a privately-owned application software development company, says revenues and profits are up through May 31, the end of its fiscal year, due to an acquisition.

The purchase of Sunquest Information Systems, Inc. resulted in revenues jumping 51 percent to $411 million while gross profits increased 34 percent to $72 million.

In a prepared statement Chalres Lambert, Misys’ chief financial officer, says: “The acquisition of Sunquest gave us a company with market-leading products, a great reputation for service and a very loyal customer base. Demand for their products and services remains encouraging as has been shown by recent large deals.”

Lambert’s statement refers to a $17 million contract Misys secured with Los Angeles County Hospitals, the largest such deal in the country, company officials say.
