JUMPtec has named EMJ Embedded Systems Distributor of the Year from among its 30 worldwide distributors.

The announcement was made on June 24 in Deggendorf, Germany, during JUMPtec’s annual distributors’ meeting. Pittsboro-based EMJ was cited for achieving top sales volume in 2001.

EMJ is a stocking distributor for JUMPtec products, supporting sales through its Web site, which provides product spec sheets, as well as online ordering and technical support. EMJ also promotes JUMPtec products through its active participation in embedded industry trade shows and advertising.

EMJ Embedded Systems, a division of EMJ America Inc., distributes a full line of single board computers, CompactPCI solutions, Flash solutions, PC Card disk drives, PC Card readers, PC/104 add-on cards, PC/104 peripherals, alphanumeric displays, software and enclosures. EMJ is a publicly traded company with revenues of $150 million and can be found on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol EMJ.

JUMPtec Industrielle Computertechnik AG (Deggendorf) and Kontron Embedded Computers AG (Eching, near Munich) have merged since the award was given to EMJ. Under the terms of the merger, JUMPtec Adastra, the North American subsidiary of JUMPtec AG in California, will go by the name Kontron America.
