Lancope Inc., creator of the StealthWatch line of advanced
Intrusion Detection System (IDS) appliances, has appointed Harland LaVigne as president and chief executive officer.

Currently, the Atlanta-based company’s clients include Weather.com and Nielsen Media Research.

LaVigne most recently led Open Market (Nasdaq: OMKT) as its
president, chief executive officer and chairman.

“LaVigne has a proven ability to build world class technology
organizations,” John A. Copeland, chairman of Lancope and chaired professor at Georgia Tech, said in a statement. “As Lancope moves through our next cycle of growth with the significant new launch of StealthWatch version 3.0, LaVigne’s experience will help Lancope solidify its leadership position and evolve the market for advanced IDS solutions.”

LaVigne also has served as co-founder, president and chief executive officer for StarBurst Communications Corporation; president and chief executive officer for SofNet Inc. and ZSoft Corporation; and president and chief operating officer for ATEX Publishing.
