The Sustainable Job Fund has invested $500,000 in EvCo Research LLC of Atlanta, the companies announced Wednesday.
EvCo produces water repellant for paper and packaging as well as strength-enhancement coatings. Major clients include International Paper, Inland Container, and Coca-Cola.
The Sustainable Job Fund, based in Durham, has a $17 million fund and focuses on companies that provide entry-level employment.
So far, SJF has invested more than $5 million in 11 companies in the eastern United States. Combined, the firms have generated more than 1,250 jobs.
