Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), which works with emerging technology companies, has signed on as the first global sponsor of TiE, a global not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.

SVB is based in Santa Clara, CA, and has branches all over the country, including ones in the technology hotbeds of RTP in Atlanta. TiE also has chapters across the nation, including the TiE Carolinas chapter, which is one of the fastest growing in the TiE organization.

Ash Lilani, SVB senior vice president and South Bay region manager, will spearhead the bank’s active involvement with TiE and the larger Indus community. Both organizations, SVB and TiE, have a strong national presence with significant overlap, they say.

“The SVB Global Sponsorship sets a new benchmark of relationships for TiE,” Kailash Joshi, TiE global director and Silicon Valley president, said in a statement. “We look forward to working closely with them on specific collaborative programs and ideas for the benefit of our members and the two organizations. Through this initiative, SVB is helping us provide a complete entrepreneurial ecosystem to our network of 8,000 members across eight countries and 45 locations.”
