CHARLOTTE -Ray Moyer, CEO of Electronic Payment Exchange, a Delaware-based payment processing services firm with offices in Atlanta, says the company has been acquired by InterCept, a provider of products and services for the financial services industry.
Moyer declined to reveal terms of the deal.
“InterCept has about 1,800 clients in the banking industry and their products and services complement our core payment processing solutions,” Moyer, who was attending the NCEITA “Banking on the Future” conference, said.
Moyer said EPX was the first company to process credit card and electronic check transactions over the Internet. He added that the company has clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small business owners, and that EPX transactions have reached $5 billion annually.
