In another boost for TogetherSoft, J.D. Edwards (Nasdaq: JDEC) has selected its ControlCenter for its strategic application development efforts.

ControlCenter’s integrated software development platform provides a unified environment that enhances developer productivity in design, and coding, the company says. This feature was crucial to Denver-based J.D. Edwards, a provider of integrated supply chain management, enterprise and CRM software and consulting services.

“We are standardizing on a design format that everyone can share across multiple teams in multiple sites-a key to this is the technology to improve communication across our engineering organization,” Michael Madden, chief technology officer for J.D.
Edwards, said in a statement. “We were also looking for a more efficient and effective design environment for individual developers. Together ControlCenter addresses both of those needs.”

Other features and benefits that appealed to Madden and his teams include ControlCenter’s ease of use and minimal training requirements, its lighter footprint, and its ability to work with and integrate with complementary software and hardware, they say. Approximately 200 developers at J.D. Edwards are currently using ControlCenter, with plans to extend that reach to another 300 developers throughout the company.
