Vijay Vashee, a Microsoft veteran and the founder and president of the TiE-Seattle chapter, is the featured speaker at the TiE Carolinas meeting on May 9 at the Holiday Inn RTP.
Vashee, also an accomplished angel investor, will talk on “What makes Microsoft Microsoft?” He was a key player in several technology and company acquisitions in the MS Office group, resulting in their becoming dominant market leaders.
Vashee joined the software giant in 1982. He was the 27th employee at Microsoft and held various posts in marketing, program and general management.
“Vijay is a very impressive guy, and is very active in mentoring entrepreneurs,” says TiE Carolinas President Vivek Wadhwa, who also is chief executive officer at Relativity Technologies. “Vijay no longer works at Microsoft, and I suspect that he will be quite open.”
The May 9 Tie Carolinas event with Vashee will begin at 6 PM and last for two hours at the Holiday Inn RTP on Old Page Road. Admission for TiE members is $15, and for non-members, $30. Registration is required.
