The North Carolina Electronics and Information Technologies Association (NCEITA) is partnering with Network Computing and InformationWeek magazines to revamp one of the Southeast’s preeminent technology conference.

“Banking on the Future of Technology: From Adversity to
Opportunity” is the title for the conference which formerly was known as the “Upside Southeast Technology Conference.” Upside and Southeast Interactive formerly sponsored the conference in Research Triangle Park.

The event is May 22-22 at the University of North Carolina Charlotte.

Speakers will include Alfred Berkeley, vice-chairman of NASDAQ; Frank Gentry, executive director of the Financial Services Exchange; Bill Neal with Piedmont Venture Partners; Neil Edwards, vice president for corporate development at VeriSign; Bill Smith, chief technology officer for BellSouth, and Scott Faris, chief executive officer of Waveguide Solutions.

The event will be held at the Barnhardt Center and Cone Center
on the campus of UNC-Charlotte. It is sponsored by Allston & Bird LLP, the Burnett Group, Cisco Systems, UNC-Charlotte, Womble Carlyle and BellSouth.
