TogetherSoft, which has hopes of going public, has lined up a major partner to promote one of its top products.

Sun Professional Services and TogetherSoft are entering an agreement to provide products and expertise that the companies say will help customers build enterprise applications more quickly and at lower cost.

As part of the agreement, Sun Professional Services, the consulting arm of Sun Microsystems, will be able to provide customers with TogetherSoft’s flagship product, Together ControlCenter, a
Model-Build-Deploy Platform for building enterprise applications.

“TogetherSoft has built our (core patterns) right into their modeling tools and provides the advanced modeling tool capabilities required by our SunTone Architecture Methodology, Sun Professional Services’ unique patterns-based approach to application architecture design,” Stu Stern, Sun Java Center vice president, said in a statement. “Our methodology and expertise, combined with TogetherSoft’s tools deliver a powerful capability enabling our customers to rapidly design and implement robust application systems.”

In a press release Randy Gray, TogetherSoft’s director of business development, said: “Our agreement with Sun Professional Services provides our mutual customers with the combination of a leading software modeling tool and world-class design and architecture expertise. We’re pleased to be able to join efforts to help customers quickly develop applications at lower cost.”
