Will Windows 10 hit the market in July? CNET reports that LIsa Su, the CEO of Advanced Micro Devices disclosed the release date during a conference call Friday discussing AMD’s first-quarter earnings.

Asked about guidance for the second quarter, Su interjected, “What we also are factoring in is, you know, with the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching sort of the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of a delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory build-up.”

CNET cites the transcript at Seeking Alpha (http://seekingalpha.com/article/3076866-advanced-micro-devices-amd-ceo-lisa-su-on-q1-2015-results-earnings-call-transcript?page=4&p=qanda&l=last).

Microsoft has stated Windows 10 would roll out this summer.

The company hopes to improve upon its unpopular roll out of Windows 8, which annoyed many with its tablet-focused approach. It brings back the start menu with quick access to both Windows programs and apps. It also incorporates Cortana, Microsoft’s voice assistant used on Windows phones.

It also includes a new browser called Spartan that is supposed to offer a new approach to web-browsing.
