RALEIGH, N.C. – NCTA’s 2014 Online CEO Auction closes this Friday at noon.

This is your chance to have a private lunch with a who’s who among technology CEOs in North Carolina.

Here is the list of those up for auction along with some brief background information:

Alex Bloom is CEO of WebAssign, the leading provider of online instructional tools for students and faculty. Alex has been a tech executive at several companies, including Appia, Motricity, and Verizon Wireless. He helped lead these companies through the massive growth in the mobile content (apps) industry, and feels education technology is at the front end of similar growth. WebAssign won NCTA’s 2013 “Best Workplace Culture” award.

Jud Bowman is Founder and CEO of Appia, now the largest cross-platform, app install network in the world. He previously founded Motricity, which grew to $100 Million in annual sales and 500 employees globally. Jud has been ranked in the world’s Top 100 Young Innovators, and was a President’s Scholar at Stanford.

Karen Braswell is owner, CEO and Chair of the Board for Alphanumeric Systems, a North Carolina-based IT services company that is global in reach with offices in Canada, the UK, and now Spain. Karen has been a technology professional throughout her career, including roles with Exxon and EDS. She continues Alphanumeric’s proud tradition as a woman-owned company.

Joe Colopy is Founder and CEO of Bronto Software, a popular marketing automation platform to mid-market online retailers. Prior to bootstrapping Bronto out of his house, he was a marketer at Red Hat and a teacher in the U.S. Peace Corps. Despite being a graduate of Harvard and UNC, he named his fast-growing technology company after an extinct lizard with the brain the size of pea.

Dave Jones is co-founder and CEO of Peak 10, a data center company that has grown into a national IT infrastructure solutions provider. Prior to Peak 10, Dave held leadership positions in several telecommunications companies. He is a prominent leader in business and entrepreneurship arenas, particularly in the Charlotte region.

Doug Lebda founded LendingTree after experiencing the frustrations and complexities of getting a mortgage. He flipped the model – have banks compete for the customer’s business. He then took the company public, then through a sale, then through a spin-out as a separate company. How often do you meet someone who revolutionized an industry, and has been through the IPO process successfully.

Jesse Lipson is the VP & GM of Data Sharing at Citrix ShareFile, a Raleigh-based company that helps businesses exchange files easily, securely and professionally. He founded ShareFile, bootstrapping it from zero to four million users in six years, before it was acquired by Citrix. A self-taught software programmer, Jesse has launched and led multiple cloud and e-commerce businesses since the age of 23.

David Morken is the Co-founder and CEO of Bandwidth. Founded in 1999, Bandwidth is disrupting the telecom industry with its customer-first focus and software development horsepower. They serve corporate clients as diverse as Google and Skype, as well as consumers everywhere who want to save money on their smartphone bills with Republic Wireless. Did you know he is also the founder of the internet’s first online income tax filing system? Morken is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School, a member of the Virginia Bar Association – and a former Marine.

Michael Praeger is the Co-Founder & CEO of AvidXchange, Inc., the leading provider of on-demand accounts payables management and automated payment solutions. He is a serial entrepreneur, starting PlanetResume.com, a recruiting site that successfully completed its merger with CareerShop.com and CareerTV.net in 1999, along with co-founding InfoLink Partners and InfoVentures, LP.

Donald Thompson is the President & CEO of I-Cubed, a full-service enterprise IT consulting company. You can take your mind of the trials of day-to-day work and fulfill your competitive spirit on the racquetball court with Donald.

Jim Whitehurst is CEO of Red Hat, one of the world’s best known open-source software companies. This Georgia native has lived and worked all over the world. Over lunch, ask him about their growth plans, and why he chose to keep Red Hat’s headquarters in North Carolina. You might also ask about how he shepherded a global airline out of bankruptcy, or what’s it like to give a TED Talk.

Stephen Wiehe is President, CEO and Chairman of SciQuest, the largest publicly-held pure-play provider of cloud-based business automation solutions for spend management. Learn about Steve’s experience as CEO of various companies, including the story-arc of how he took SciQuest from a state of financial distress to fiscal health and growth.

Scot Wingo is President & CEO of ChannelAdvisor, a global leader in e-commerce optimization. He was co-Founder and CEO of two other companies previously, and is a self-described “crazed Star Wars fan” and comic art collector.

Bidding is open until Friday with proceeds to help support NCTA programing and the Betsy Justus Scholarship Fund. Winning bidders will secure a one-on-one lunch meeting with the CEO they choose.
