Practichem is looking to beef up its staff – and to make jobs more enticing the Raleigh-based startup is offering employees a Tesla 3. But there are caveats.
Caveat: Tesla 3s aren’t available yet.
Caveat 2: The $36,000 cars will be leased.
Caveat 3: They may have to wait. More than 400,000 people have already placed orders for the all-electric car.
The cars also will go to full-time employees.
Practichem, which recently raised $5 million from investors, is a developer of biotech instrumentation and software.
“Our vision shares similarities with Tesla Motors; both companies positively impact humanity with real change,” said Nick DeMarco, the founder and CEO, who moved the company to the Triangle from Wisconsin in 2013. “People driven to solve big issues share core values. Many of our employees have marveled at Tesla’s approach. Their compelling all-electric vehicles drive us to make real change in our field.”
The company says it will pay for and manage the lease.
“Practichem builds technologies to accelerate open science and help find cures for horrific diseases,” DeMarco added in making the announcement. “We are always looking for brilliant engineers who want to contribute to something important.”
