United Therapeutics settles with Novartis Sandoz unit

United Therapeutics (Nasdaq:UTHR) said Wednesday that it has settled its patent infringement suit with Novartis AG’s Sandoz Inc. unit.

The agreement grants Sandoz a non-exclusive license to make and commercialize the generic version of blood pressure medicine Remodulin starting June 26, 2018.

Remodulin accounted for 43 percent of UT’s 2014 revenue, raking in more than 500 million.

NC cities on economic expansion list

WalletHub’s Growing Cities list, which rates metros tha have expanded most rapidly in socioeconomic terms between 2008 and 2014, lists Concord at 16, Asheville at 20, and Charlotte at 25 the three highest NC locations on a list of 515.

The rest of the NC cities on the list are a good way down the economic pike. Cary comes in at 55, Raleigh at 56, Durham at 74, Gastonia in a tie for 83, Wilmington at 131 and Greensboro at 135.

Odessa, Texas claimed the number one spot, followed by eight other Texas cities in the top ten, with only Kent, WA, at 7, spoiling a shutout. Five of the next ten are also Texas cities.
