Mobile technology startup StepLeader will host a “riot” on June 4 – but it’s not what you think. It’s the first RIoT or Raleigh Internet of Things meetup.

And if you have ideas about how to capitalize on the Internet of Things, you may want to attend.

“StepLeader hosts this community of technologists, entrepreneurs, academia, and tinkerers that are interested in connecting the offline world to the online,” the company says.

“Dabble in connected devices? Building a company to make a smart home? Testing out beacons? Join us as we explore this new level of innovation together.”

The event is set for 6 p.m. on June 4 at StepLeader’s headquarters located at 819 W. Hargett Street in Raleigh.

It’s being organized by Matthew Davis, an entrepreneur and a member of the StepLeader management team.
