This digest will focus on must-attend events happening in the next two weeks, including a symposium on women in the sports business industry, a tech/film-infused conference in Wilmington, two tech community events in Wilson, and more. Monthly meetups that occur on a regular basis are listed at the bottom.

A two-day mesh of workshops, networking and speakers focusing on all things tech will take hold in Wilmington next week (https://wraltechwire.com/wilmington-to-host-tech-innovation-conference-nov-9-10/17020618/). It’s part of the city’s flagship film festival Cucalorus (http://www.cucalorus.org/), which is in its 23rd year.

Cucalorus Connect sessions will be held in conjunction with the festival. Discussions will cover data, attracting talent through culture, crowdfunding, design, the North Carolina seafood economy, and more.
