  • Jobs fair

First, the job fair as being put on by Chris Heivly, co-founder of The Startup Factory.

“This week will mark the 12th Big Top Reverse Jobs Fair to be held in downtown Durham from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm,” Heivly writes.

That’s the agenda for the latest Jim Roberts-hosted startup event in Wilmington on Thursday.

  • Brad Feld in Charlotte

On June 1, Brad Feld, Managing Director of Foundry Group, will be in Charlotte to discuss Building an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. This is a rare appearance by Feld, who ceased business travel for a year in 2013-2014, and has been selective in his travel since then. Prior to co-founding Boulder, Colorado-based Foundry Group, he co-founded Mobius Venture Capital and Intensity Ventures. Feld is also a co-founder of Techstars and the author of Startup Communities: Building an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Your City. His talk immediately follows the Queen City FinTech Demo Day and is hosted in partnership with the Charlotte Entrepreneurial Alliance.

The third annual Innovatours is May 20-22.
