RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – is now an authorized reseller of the Google Apps suite of communication and collaboration tools for rural and tribal Internet Service Providers (ISP), the RTP-based company announced on Tuesday.
NeoNova will integrate Google Apps – a cloud-based suite of email, calendar, IM, and collaboration tools – into their provisioning platform and comprehensive suite of managed services to new and existing ISPs in the rural and tribal telecom markets. In addition, the company also will offer Postini, Google’s spam and virus protection service.
Between 14 and 24 million Americans live in areas considered unserved or underserved when comes to broadband connectivity. By bringing in Google Apps to broadband providers through NeoNova, affiliates will improve the ways rural residents use broadband services and communicate.
Google is working with companies like NeoNova who are focused on improving the lives of rural communities by offering new services to rural telcos. Rural and tribal communities have historically been an overlooked segment. But, through federal broadband initiatives and stimulus funding, high-speed broadband can now level the playing field for these communities despite zip codes.
